THE FOOL AND THE KNAVE – المغفل و الخبيث

Sahyan, a naïve fool, and Daryan, a wicked knave are partners in a textile trading business. Their business is successful and allows them to save enough money to go back to their hometowns. Daryan suggests that they bury their money in a chest box under a pine tree and dig it out whenever they needed money. This plan prompts Daryan to cheat Sahyan out of his money share and take it all for himself by unearthing the box late at night. Daryan’s plan fails and Sahyan ends up earning the whole amount of money as a reward by the mayor. The Fool and the Knave instills the morals aiming to impart the right values to children and highlights that being good will prevail at the end.
